Jonathan “Noah” Burgess

Batman taking on “Jack the Ripper” on its face is a very interesting story concept. And one that is done well with characters from Batman’s universe placed thoughtfully throughout. (Including a Cyrus Jones easter egg). The story is captivating but the animation could’ve been better. I was disappointed in how weak and pathetic Batman was in the fighting scenes. But maybe this was early in his career and he didn’t have much experience yet. I think the film is worth watching but nothing to write home about.

I REALLY enjoyed this book. There is constant action and the author makes you really care about the characters. The beginning is a little slow, but once I got past page 100 I couldn’t put it down. The book doesn’t dive much at all into the origins of the virus or the immediate fallout/global response (which I was disappointed with); but the book is still an interesting dystopia from the resulting aftermath. The characters are trying to find there way in a world without much functioning technology left. Most people are just worried about their next meal, unable to trust anyone. They wonder if things can ever go back to the way they were before the virus. Although it wasn’t quite what I expected, I strongly recommend this book.
