One glaring plot flaw is that insulin cannot be slipped into a drink because it would be rendered inert. it must be injected. Didn’t the writers stop to think why do people subject themselves to countless injections? It is because insulin is broken down by our gut. (by the enzyme protease from the pancreas ) into it’s essential amino acids and proteins are reconstituted in the liver. Furthermore, insulin is a subcutaneous (under the skin) injection so it would be impossible to sustain an air embolism from an insulin injection the needle could never reach an artery.
Thirdly George Harrison’s “Something” hadn’t been written until years later, but that’s a minor flaw.
Funny and upbeat. I don’t know if being that implausible really detracts from the sheer entertainment but they set up a medical plot twist upon which, it would’ve been wise to have received some medical consultation. Whomever, contrived that bit clearly was in over their head. May I also add that Carol Burnett looks amazing for 91 years old and Kristen Wiig never disappoints. Great seeing Bruce and Laura Dern acting as Father and Daughter.
