Having read two of the Cotton Malone books I am constantly annoyed that the kernels of good characters and ideas are drowned in excessive description and unneeded exposition. Steve Berry really needed a strong and competent editor because you could easily have removed 15-20% of both of these books without affecting the story or entertainment. The eskimo may well have 50 words for snow, but I'm guessing they only use one at a time, not all of them in one paragraph!!!!
