If you are an ostrich and your head's been stuck in the sand for the past 10 years, then Starfield is an improvement over Fallout 4. If you've played any of the more recent AAA open world games, then Starfield falls short on every level when it comes to seamless open world, immersion, gameplay, storytelling, worldbuilding, exploration, and more. By doing nothing particularly well and pairing it with a lackluster story and terrible cast of characters, it creates an underwhelming experience sorely lacking in innovation that is lesser than the sum of its parts.
