Season 2 is much better than season 1. I'd give the first season two stars but this season 4 stars. Kate Hudson is a wonderful addition and her character gives the show some depth. Last season's story was cliche and some parts were just unbelievable. Poppy's family drama continues but her father's illness is dealt with this season. The writing for this season is much better. Overall a good show.

Season 2 was just terrible. A man was shot in the back. He had emergency surgery to remove the bullet. When he awakes from surgery he is wearing a black shirt. What? A woman tries to commit suicide by slitting her wrists in the bathtub. Bloody water would indicate she lost blood but did she go to the hospital? No. She is allowed to stay home and is given a sedative by a nurse. What? I haven't seen that since the 1950s. So many absurdities to mention but I don't want to spoil it for everyone. Season 1 was smart in my opinion and the few blips could be overlooked. Not sure what happened with the second season, new writers maybe?

With each episode, the show gets better. But the real stars are Abishola's friend and Auntie. They give the show the humor it needs.

IMO, Cory Ellison is the most interesting character on the show. Yes, even more than the MeToo movement angle. Is he really that thrilled with transforming the show or does he have some ulterior motives? Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s acting are superb. I keep expecting Steve Carell to make me laugh. It’s entertaining.
