It’s a slow burn kind of show. But... if they get 1-3 more seasons... I truly think it will pay off. It’s complex (especially if you know enough about the era and archetypes they play with). Nathan Lane gives, easily, some of his best work in this show... and I’m someone who knows and has seen almost all of his work, both live and on film. For those willing to commit and really dig in to a layered, and complex... and true to the historical monicker of “penny dreadful”... it’s a great watch
