As much as "Sticky Fingers" gets all the credit as being their best album I must strongly disagree (although sticky fingers has a few alright songs that keep them going) As far as I'm concerned the badness overwhelms the group post ya yas sounds from 1971 onward, they seem to go into what becomes a downward spiral of drugs, drink, and overall creative confusion. This shows especially with their studio performances as well as their live shows by the time the exile on main street sessions began in 1972. The best album we were granted with the stones in their absolute prime would have to be none other than let it bleed. With this album we are granted with mostly every member giving their finest contributions to their best abilities. Although the band's key component Brian Jones was battling his own demons in and around his atmosphere by this stage in the band the losing point we get by the time the album is given to the public is Jones' premature departure at the age of 27. Now with Jones' given contributions to the table as well as the assumed arrival of his then replacement 20 year old Mick Taylor that occurred midway during the let it bleed sessions that june results with a great finished piece with absolute masterfully balanced output between the 3 guitars in the mixes.
Now personally for me this album upon first listen turned the wheel for a massive storm of inspiration for me as well as confidence in myself as a working musician in the art and business. With these results given I cannot rate it anything but 5 stars as far as The Rolling Stones go for me this is my bread and butter as they over the years have tried just about every sound you could possibly imagine in your head over again. This album is perfected with great worksmanship from the members old and new recording in this mix we are given several genres in one listen. Chicago Blues, Delta Blues, Country, Rock, Bluegrass, Jazz, And everything else inbetween that we can be offered for a 42 minute playback. They would never match this result in the same manor again after this.
