Laksmi Mahalingam

A very realistic story with a deep social message. It looks like a peep in to a village. Script is well written, the end is really touching. It's nice to see Tamil movies embrace realism. The audience should encourage such small budget movies. Congrats to the director. I think all magazines should promote such movies.

Lovely and realistic movie. Throughly enjoyed. Aishwarya and Jai deserve much praise for their acting. Ex - after going through a rough marietal life seeks solace in her lovers shoulders without realising her impact on the family. The moment she realises she moves out of his life. Director deserves an award. This movie is definitely better than PS II where Mani Ratnam literally killed the twist in the novel ,created a bitterness among PS novel lovers. He had just used Kalki as a platform to mint money.

Plus- Kudos to Mani Ratnam in his effort to concise an epic Clarity in narration despite being fast paced cinema essence added, Music and warfare scenes - superb. Minus Ratnam should understand that Tamilians are expressive. Underplaying and subtle performance doesn't fit a historical movie. Emotional connect of audience to the film missing Veerapandian murder & Aishwarya begging - could have been elaborate. Fail to move us. Jaya chithra and Rehman - could have been better. On the whole the joy of seeing the play is missingbon the movie. Hope PS - II is better
