I very much enjoyed the first two "A quiet place" films for the novel scenario of alien attack by blind monsters with very sensitive hearing, excellent cast and acting. This motivated me to pay to watch "A quiet place: Day one" at the cinema. My expectation was quite high for this third film in the series. I hoped that detail would be revealed about the aliens, how the attack unfolded and people managed to survive. A quiet place: Day one completely missed the opportunity to complete the story and add depth by filling in the missing bits. The story line was too simple and weak - A terminally ill black woman with pet cat and desire for pizza tries to survive an alien invasion in New York with a weak and useless white guy. Far too much time was spent zoomed right into lead actress Lupita Nyono's face making it boring and/or with her in focus and a totally blurred background. Also too many silly scenarios such as the over done desire to get and eat pizza for the last time, the pet cat in tow that kept miraculously clean despite the devaststion all around and almost losing all of its nine lives. The cat was unrealistically tolerant of water, in the film scenarios, it would have gone berserk. If this had been the first film, the series would have flopped. Do not waste your time and money watching this film.
