I am so angry about the way that young "pretty" brown girl diminished the importance of the Gabby Petito case. Shame on her and shame on the staff of 48 Hour for allowing it to happen.
I have lived on or next to a reservation the majority of my life and, yes, it's concerning that so many women there go missing and rarely is there any hour or two long TV special in their case. However I have seen pretty much every race and sexual identity reported on. The divisiveness in this country doesn't need to have any more fuel tossed on the fire.
You are in a position to bring the country together, it will take 2 - 3x's the time to repair the damage, but it can be done. If someone is told something negative about themselves it takes 10 positive comments to repair the damage. So just use your power for good!!!
I don't know why it hit me so bad, probably because I have been watching 48 Hours, 20/20, and other shows during this Covid debacle. I have seen everyone featured, except a Purple People Eater; every age, sex, and appearance. However I do think that if they are pretty or handsome by society standards they are more inclined to be featured.
And as for the self-serving young woman who made the nasty unnecessary remarks, it isn't easy for the family of the "beautiful young white women" who have been murdered to capture the attention that Gabby's have. It is persistence and relentlessness that gets the attention. She's probably way too young to have heard the saying "The squeaky wheel gets the grease!" It's very true. Heck there are 4, possibly 6 murders in my area, the police know who the serial killer is, and the only attention they have gotten is an amateur video on Amazon. (Its called "Confluence")
I hope you all take this under consideration and realize that you have the power to not only unite the country but the world.
