For me it's one of those animes that question you why evil exists and how it should it be treated. The main protagonist was determined too find that answer and solve that problem. At first he was in disbelief in what the power of that book of murder could do, but once he saw how the death note worked he became a cynical person who had put his faith in creating the new world, but didn't realize that not everyone is in favor of your new world, some will look at what you're doing as unjustly and will act to their accordance becuase some people want to eliminate evil in a different way. It became a war about what is fair to both the good and the evil. At the end justice prevailed and the boy who thought what he was doing right found out that his life and reputation was ruined to a notebook that has the power to end people's lives.It shows how a person changes with time when they become obsessed with power and eventually turning them into different person in which the good people can't understand,, because they know that person is full of malicious thought and are a danger to others. Light yagami's path was truly tragic but this gives a great example to audiences how power corrupts the mind.
