We went to see the movie Oppenheimer. One word describes it, dismal. The people responsible for this film fiasco managed to squander 100 million dollars on this financial black hole. For some reason, the producers felt that a compelling docudrama about one of the most important events in world history required a few gratuitous sex scenes and liberal doses of "potty" talk. And then there are the blah-blah-blah Congressional meetings . What genius came up with the idea that there has been a dearth of political claptrap???? They must have thought that spouses were saying to each other "Gee honey , let's go watch three hours of people interrogating the guy who oversaw the making of the Atom Bomb". I love history This movie is not an accurate representation of history. This movie is not compelling , it is not accurate and they attempted to besmirch one of our greatest Presidents, Harry Truman. I am saying that as a Republican who has respect for a Democrat. They depicted Truman as some kind of hapless bumpkin with no grasp of the events of his time. They did not even bother to research his mannerisms or speech accent. Horrible. I have walked out on two movies in my life. Oppenheimer is one of them. The other one was a Woody Allen movie that was so bad that I have blocked out the title in my memory.
