*Preface to this review; although this shows’ been out for years, I’ve just watched some episodes today and will review it as if it’s a seemingly new show I discovered recently in hopes to draw anyone else that hasn’t seen the show before to give it a go as well. I’ll keep this simple and easy to explain about this show. If ‘family guy’ was considered an edgy version of ‘the simpsons’, then ‘big mouth’ would be an edgy version of ‘family guy’. The jokes and scene formats are a close resemblance of ‘family guys’ format as you’ll be reminded with some of the usages and timing of the cut scenes and flashbacks. If I were to guess, I’d say the production company that does the animation for ‘family guy’ also produces the animation for ‘big mouth’. All in all, it’s a fresh show that pushes the envelope in an animated series. If you don’t mind or like to see a more raunchy comedy series with explicit sex scenes and profane language, this would be the show to watch. Personally, I love it so far, especially since I recognize some of my favourite comedians that do the voice acting in it, as most comedy fans should be able to recognize if they consider themselves a fan of stand up comedy, or comedy in general. Oops, I said I’d make it simple and easy to explain but I guess I ramble when I have a lot of positive things to say about the show. I’ll end it here, go watch the show now!
