Another heart-tugging master piece from the mind of Osamu Dazai. His ability to put words to the human condition despite claiming himself separate from humanity is truly his greatest gift to the world. Kazuko is likeable and a character you want the best for even through her not so great decisions. Dazai's writing has the perfect amount of description, maybe drifting off on a tangent some times but always manages to bring me back quickly with something interesting. R.I.P Osamu Dazai, I severely hope you found the release from pain you sought in the afterlife.

"Them" is a heartbreakingly terrifying story, the fact that almost every violent or hard to see thing you watch is a reflection of the history of our world is stomach turning. This show shows the truly disgusting underbelly of humanity. The acting is perfection, and the Emory family is so likeable and relatable that it drags you painfully next to them through out every awful event that happens. Would definitely suggest this show if you're looking for something creepy yet thought provoking, but I would say definitely avoid if you have a weak stomach or just aren't good mentally, this show will take you to some depressive dark places.

I mean good if your looking for something sort of disturbing, but instead of the disturbing things coming naturally it feels very forced, like the author is trying to just throw the most messed up thing that pops into his head at that moment. I don't know if I was supposed to like the main character because he "wasn't a poser like the rest of them" but God I hated every second of his perspective which is basically the whole book. Not because he was just messed up and disturbing but because he is so. Very. Annoying. Maybe for you but definitely not for me, it was a struggle.

As a long time fan of the work of Edgar Allan Poe I have to say I was very wary when I heard Netflix was coming out with a show around one of his works. With how TV shows now adays absolutely massacre the soul in some books I was worried this one would have the same fate. By the last episode I was amazed and impressed, it wasn't exactly the famous 'The Fall of the House of Usher' but it was like a bunch of his famous works got together and shook hands while also coming in with a new fresh story. This was obviously made with him and his stories in mind, and I honestly believe if he was able to see it he would think just as highly of it as I do.

I loved the mix of psychological drama and the struggles in Judaism. The relationship between Alan and Sam is key, and I loved how they sort of echo each other in certain ways.*Spolier* Like how Sam looks at his victims in a negative light because of what his father did and Alan looks at Ezra in a negative light because of what happened with Ezra's mother while in reality the people are very different from how they see them. Would definitely recommend!
