As a fan of the original Foundation series books I looked forward to watching this series and just happy someone made a series based on Foundation. Just finished watching season 1, I have not watched other seasons. Overall this series deviates from the story so much that it can only be said to be inspired from that work. The good part is the production quality and imagined worlds like Trantor. I also enjoyed the 3 emperors conflicts. The story arc for the series finale was interesting and I liked it how they delt with the big time jumps in foundation story as centuries pass. They made a choice to force fit continuing with same characters even across the time lapse. What should be a new cast in each new time, but I can see they dont want to confuse audience and have to reestablish connection with new characters. The bad part of the series is it has too many supernatural elements for Sci-fi. R. Daneel Olivaw finds faith?? It doesnt have any of the great scientific insights that Asimov used in his stories. From what I remember of the books , only the mule had any such powers. I just hope this series inspires audience to pick up and read Asimov Foundation series.
