The reimagined Color Purple cinematic musical wasn't bad at all. After reading other reviews, was hesitant to see it, however I've never been one to formulate an opinion off the belief of others. Honestly the movie is about 2 1/2 hours just like the 1985 dramatic film. There are only seven songs sung in the movie, for the most part there's a lot of actual dialog. The surprise cameos of brilliant black actors is amazing and the main characters have very beautiful singing voices. Most of the dramatic details have been omitted, as this is a reimagined musical of the Broadway show. Please keep that in mind if and when you plan to see the movie. It was a great adventure.
