Another excellent book from Michael Campling. It was really interesting to have a 'prequel' to the Devonshire Mysteries series which are a favourite of mine. The story was interesting and dealt with the rampant corruption that was in local government and the police at that time. The ending was a complete surprise, I never saw it coming, as the saying goes. Highly recommended.
