Gonna give it a solid 3/5
Like everyone, I really liked the 1st game. Not too many changes to mechanics. Visually, really well done, no real complaints there. You play as 2 different characters who meet in a gruesome way and then you see how their stories interconnect over time. This can be fun and display different perspectives but it’s a little veering from what I thought was the ultimate point of the game. It was an interesting direction to take the game but I feel that people are most upset with the story more-so than the gameplay. It’s a long game and I feel as if the first game just hit a stride with a more simplistic and point driven approach. I got a little tired of the scavenging just because there’s so much of it packed into this 30 hour story. This game did do a good job of riding a thriller/ horror line. It’s not really scary it just can get intense similar to the first. I’d say It was “almost” worth that long wait, but it’s so hard to follow up the first. Enjoyed this game once I got over my connection to the original characters from the first and just faced facts. This review is so late, I just wanted to speak my mind into the chasm.
