This could easily have been a 5 star movie... If it were a comedy! But, alas, it's a horror movie and a terrible, terrible one at that.
In a genre that is already a drastically overcrowded arena of bad movies, this one went above and beyond to make itself stand out from the rest. About half way through it I started to think "surely this is all a joke?" Nobody in any professional capacity could make this as a serious movie. There is just no way this flick went through producers, writers, studio execs, director, actor, even the sound guy without somebody laughing at the absurdity of it all. So, were they having us on? Was this mocking the genre and the current fixation with reboots?
Honestly, who knows?
