Life is strange 2 is a game that will always be held dearly towards my heart. The game starts off slow, but instantly hooks me when an argument breaks out between Daniel and their neighbor; when Sean comes out to investigate things get heated and an accident happens that causes both Sean and Daniel to flee and causes them to go on the run which is essentially the plot for all the later episodes.
Graphics-
I found the environments to be much prettier than the original Life is Strange game. A prime example is on episode 1 when Sean and Daniel are in the woods together the graphics were so pretty for a Life is Strange game and you can see that they definitely improved along with the lip syncing.
Gameplay-
Overall, I found it interesting playing as a protagonist who seemingly had no power and the realization that younger brother Daniel had the power creates an interesting storyline. I liked the gameplay with Sean where you could sketch different environments as it adds to similar mechanics from the first game when you could take photographs as Max. I think the telekinetic power Daniel possesses is very cool; maybe not as interesting as rewinding time but it was good for the sake of the supernatural twist.
Characters-
I loved Sean as a protagonist I liked him a bit more than Max, but he was on the same levels essentially as Max was with them both being artistically talented and having compassion and a seemingly normal personality. I liked other characters such as Cassidy, Brody, Karen, and Daniel. A lot of people hated Daniel but I believe they dealt with him very realistic as a 9 year old he was of course bratty and wanted his own way which helps set the realism that he still is a kid and we have to remember he has this supernatural power and his life suddenly changed when they were forced on the run. The dynamic between Sean and Daniel was very impactful and I enjoyed the brotherly dynamic.
Storyline-
I found this storyline much more cooler than the original. On the run from the law both Sean and Daniel trying to flee to Mexico in fear of the cops while meeting many obstacles along the way such as racism, meeting new people, and trying to find ways to scrape up more money to get to Mexico. I found the brotherly dynamic more impactful than Max/Chloe's. Maybe I'm just biased because I like family dynamics more but you could see a real connection between Daniel and Sean. I found it cool trying to go on the run while Sean desperately tries to teach Daniel right from wrong and how to tame his power.
Overall, looking back at the game again I genuinely loved the experience and found Sean extremely likable along with Daniel and other side characters like Brody, Lyla, Cassidy, Karen, etc. However, one complaint is I feel a lot of side characters were poorly fleshed out because you had no time to connect with them because you were always in a new place every episode, but granted with the plot of the game you can't really say much about that. I love this game a lot; Sean and Daniel were both amazing characters and I liked the representation of them being wolf brothers! <3 :)
