This waste of film, is the type of film that is produced when the owner of the production company spent eight years working for the "donor class", a.k.a. the military industrial complex and oligarchy, rather than working for the American people. As with guest speaker events, paintings, and donations to foundations, the film industry is also another means of money laundering, or it can be used as a vehicle for compensating former political officer holders.
Anyway, back to critiquing the film. Like other audience members have already said, if you've seen Shyamalan's The Happening, well then you just so "happened" to have seen this film as well. And if you're old enough to recall the scene in Born in East L.A. where Cheech Marin's character is teaching the Mexican guys some English words and phrases, your favorite phrase while watching Leave the World Behind will be "wass-ssappening???"
The story was adapted from a 2020 novel (of the same name) written by the son of immigrants from Bangladesh; not from ChatGPT...and not written by the son of immigrants from Syria. <wink>
Although the production company's owner has been out of political office for almost seven years now, the existence of this film tells me that he still misses dropping bombs on people.
