The book was good. Taylor Jenkins Reid can spin a tale and her knowledge of the 70’s music scene was impressive. She is best at writing romans a clef about the glory days of Hollywood. That having been said, and in spite of co-producing the filmed production, she had to have cringed watching this series. Riley Keogh has a nice set of pipes but she looks nothing like original Daisy and has zero chemistry with Sam Claflin, Billy. Zero appeal. Suki Waterhouse as Karen, has way more allure and might have played Daisy well. Billy is too weathered for the role. He looks like the other band member’s uncle. The only character who improves on film is Camila. Lovely. I am only on the fourth episode and though it’s getting on my nerves, I’ll probably persevere in the hope that momentum and some excitement might occur. I’ll admit I might be a little old and jaded to be taken with this series. I grew up with Fleetwood Mac. Also, the musical numbers are pretty lame.
