Sa re ga ma pa is a great show.The music is really good with excellent arrangements and wonderful contestants.However,there is a discrepancy in their judgement. Participants like Pritam,Shampa,Tanmoy sing songs only of a particular genre and never ever sing any song of any other variety. However, candidates like Nobel, Ankita,Gurujeet, Sneha keep singing songs of all genre and keep reinventing themselves,thus keeping the audience interested. Infact,in one of the episodes when Guruheet was about to sing a devotional songs, he was made to change his song and sing a Bhangra..needless to say,he did a fantastic job on the spur of the moment. The yardsticks of judgement should be same for all and not depend upon the likings and whims of the judges.Hence,if Gurujeet can be asked to change his song at the last moment, the judges should ask Pritam, Shampa and Tanmoy to come out of their comfort zones and sing songs out if their genre.The competition seeks a champion who is at ease with all types of songs and hence,it doesnot matter if a candidate sings only a particular type of song-irrespective of how well he or she sings that particular genre.
