Trap is like an OK short story. Forgettable and a short period of distraction.
Forget about comparisons to the directors other work.
Who cares?
In the context of amazing stories in current indie movies, this is just something to watch on a date for eye candy. ...or not.
No way this stands up to "art house / indie" standards.
If not for Josh Hartnett, you might as well see some Pixar or superhero pablum.
Just not good.
