As someone who almost went in to history academically, I am usually very critical of historical inaccuracies in film - but this is an amazingly intelligent satire that touches on so many of the aspects of the time it portrays and the time it was made. The film makes fun of racism against not just African Americans - but Chinese rail workers, Irish immigrants, and Native Americans during the era, and later antisemitism. Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor's great writing makes this film just as funny and relevant today.
A film with so many comedic geniuses that will continue to be loved for generations.
