The insurance fraud case that aired on November 28 was ruled in error. The HVAC contractor gave a bid to the lady for $6900. He does not care where the money comes from. The fact was the HVAC was not working. It doesn't matter to the HVAC contractor on how it quit working. However, he did determine that it was struck by lightening. She filed a claim with the insurance company for $6900. The insurance company sent her $5400. Which is the amount of the bid less the homeowners deductible of $1500. By awarding the HVAC contractor only $2400, Judge Judy made an error because the homeowner is still responsible for her deductible of $1,500. The contractor can't eat the deductible or they would not be in business.
Judge Judy, I am sorry but you need to fix this. The contractor needs his $1,500
