A truly fun romp with great effects, a beautiful style, and a stellar cast, this is a very entertaining distraction. Sadly, none of the budget went into preserving the poetry of Poe's work, and so it'll die when audience interest moves on.
If you've ever wanted to be beaten over the head with a brick, this series is for you. This is the least subtle adaptation in existence, a Poe for Dummies as it were. It slaps you with reference after reference, strips away absolutely all moral ambiguity of any of the characters, and is so modernized that it'll be absolutely dated in about 6 months. Watch now, because it'll be irrelevant when the heart stops beating beneath the floorboards.
