This film was a miserable experience. From the nonsensical plot device, the lack of consequences, to one of the most absurd final sequences I've ever seen, this movie is the cinematic equivalent of being sprayed repeatedly in the eyes with a spritzer.

A well-directed, deliciously-acted thriller. Layers of symbolism that I've continued to dig into many days after watching. The movie could have benefited from more subtlety in some spots, but more than makes up for this in story. Definitely worth seeing in theaters.

From its insipid opening scene, through its attempts to retcon not only the Harry Potter franchise, but the previous installment of its self-same franchise, all the way to its convoluted climax and its truly dull ending, this movie has erased any confidence I had after the first film (and there was precious little) that this series is able to be salvaged. You deserve better this holiday season than to waste your time or your money on this soulless mess.
