Spider Man has always been my second favourite super hero after Bat Man but the trailer for this movie failed to engage me and finally getting round to see the film confirmed my suspicions. I know other people lap up all these official Marvel movies but many of them leave me cold. This was the least of all the big theatrical Spider Man movies. The Spider Man of the comics I grew up with never needed Tony Stark to provide him with a suit. Tony Stark seems to take up about half the film while other characters like Aunt May, the love interest and the villain's origin and motivation are criminally undeveloped. The talking suit aspect makes it feel more like Knight Rider. For me, the Raimi movies and the first Amazing Spider Man provide far better stories, characterisation and action/spectacle.
