My favourite book/movie/TV genre is historical fiction, so I was excited to see this movie and was prepared to love it. Love it I did not. This movie was a bizarre combination of a Latin American daytime drama (the romance) and a really dry historically inaccurate re-enactment of all his major battles. For a truly good movie, I think the audience either has to care about or deeply dislike the protagonist. Unfortunately, this movie depicts Napoleon, a supposedly charismatic leader, as a two-dimensional, eccentric and emotionally abusive man, leading the audience to not care one way or the other what happens to him (although we all know of course).

Thoroughly engaging historical series, which seems to be rather rare of late.

One of the most historically accurate (costumes, hair style, language, behaviour) medieval movies I’ve seen. I felt transported to the 14th century. An extremely emotive movie that was challenging to watch at times because of its content, but it was thought provoking nonetheless.

Very engaging series that is well worth a watch - gutted there won’t be a second season.

I had to stop watching this idealistic nonsense after 15 minutes. I presume it’s aimed at teenagers.

Absolutely gripping realistic police drama.

I love that we see everything from the point of view of Henry, aka Onion. This mini series was both humorous and disturbing in equal parts and kept me engaged at all times.

The most engaging period drama I’ve ever watched. I’m so excited for season two.
