Picked this up for around 18 pounds on PSN over the weekend, which I think is a fair price for it. It doesn't feel like a Contra game for the most part, which is why most reviews are so negative imo. Upon playing it as intended however,it's quite good fun. Constantly switching between weapons and sliding are at the core of the gameplay, which isn't really made clear in the tutorial. Boss fights and cut scenes really shine, but rpg elements and gun overheating mechanics feel out of place in this series. Overall,an evolution too far in terms of the series,but a fun game in it's own right.
