man i've read all of these reviews after i finished the 1st season. no one has even mentioned that the zombies aren't actually nocturnal and that they were hiding during the day because it wasn't cold enough. the end of the 6th episode even one of the characters stated "it wasn't the sun they made them hide during the day. it was the temperature." and then the zombies show up during the day and boom cliffhanger!
