Almost ten years after the Walking Dead franchise blew the world away with the television premiere on AMC, Walking Dead fans still haven't gotten the game they wanted, which is an open world CO-OP or PVP game that's closer to a DayZ style experience.
However, this first major WD video game is not as terrible as the critics made it out to be. We all expected the game of the year and instead got a very average first person shooter that's based in the melee weapons and stealth world.
That's what we should all expect though. The world of the Walking Dead is ruled by melee attacks and people doing everything they can to stay alive while being quiet in the process. This game has a decent story. There is a pretty good variety with weapons and equipment that can be found. The AI systems of saving people and sending them on supply runs offers some replay value and also the map gives you the opportunity to decide how you want to play. You can rush through the game and risk breaking your vehicle down or you can take your time and stop for supply runs.
I personally believe Overkills The Walking Dead is the best WD game we've gotten so far, but this game was a fun game to play through. I purchased and played through this on both PC and PS3.
