The whole essence of Uzumaki was to engross viewers in the world of spiral and make the whole story feel like a fever dream.
When I read the whole manga in one sitting (all chapters), till this day I get shivers when I see a spiral.
The anime, in order to wrap it up quickly, is speeding the story and it feels like it is not taking time to engulf the character's premise, their contribution to the horror and the deliver a harrowing twist as intended in the manga.
Hear me out! The music score is good, the eerie background sounds contribute hugely and the art is also good.
It's just that in the span of 4 episodes they have managed to cram in 80% of the manga, HASTILY!
What I expected from this anime was Junji Ito's revival of the story of Uzumaki by experiencing what the anime had to offer. But unfortunately, the producers of this anime did not share the same passion with respect to the story.
I think if the story panned out for about at least 8 episodes which were released at once. These guys would have made an immense impact rather than just being labelled as a manga ripoff made for monetary purposes.
