I have not watched a Woody Allen film since 1993. Why it takes decades for people to believe that “famous” people do horrible things always amazes me. The film industry which thrives on stories of the abused, is itself one of the most chronic perpetrators of crimes against children and women in the United States.
This documentary presents a thoughtful and well-told story of one of the industry icons, who has escaped any form of real justice for the crimes he committed against his daughter simply due to the public’s inability to believe this one thing—people you “know” can do very bad things.
To Dylan and Mia and their family, I applaud your strength, honesty, resilience, and never ending love and support of each other, The only shame and guilt to be passed out here lays directly at the feet of Mr. Allen. Let him live and die with that, he owns it.
