Is there "more" to say. I'm still processing my disbelief, my disappointment and whatever it is that is making me so sad. We all know that is it "so, so wrong" that Juan Pablo and Cheryl will now dance for the trophy. What is "so right" is that they gave it all and left it all on the dance floor. It's true that whomever wins the mirror ball, will not have won it "full out" and not without a true competitor. Juan was and is the missing link. Was he judged 'too good" to fail and make it to the finals? Did he not have the widespread notoriety like a Disney, Harry Potter or Country music fan base? I dunno. I've loved the show since it's beginning's. I happened upon it as S1 came to a close. Then came S2 and Cheryl. Love her! Love everything about ballroom dancing since being a kid. DWTS beginnings were humble. All about the dancing with entertainment served up on the side. As it grew, it became more about themes. I love the Halloween shows because well... the second season of the year falls thru Halloween. In the end I feel as though the show gets away from the core, "the dance". With this past weeks judging, I don't know if I can feel the same way about watching in the future. The judging needs an overhaul. How? Maybe(like the Voice)instituting some sort of "save" by a judge when "JP" happens? Make the judging strictly from the "judges", being that they are all pros in their prospective dance history? Reinstate a dance off for those in jeopardy? The popularity aspect has taken over the judging of a dance. That can't be, anymore. Maybe BB had the right idea. If a couple was "willing" to relinquish their spot "knowing" that a better scoring celeb was going home? All I do know is that my heart still breaks for JP and Cheryl. It will for a long time. I'll leave with this. From "Top Gun", Iceman-"have you figured it out yet? Whose the best(dancer!)pilot? JUAN PABLO IS!!
