The criticism and vast bad ratings of this movie bothers me, because it's clear that a lot of work was put into it. Maddie's acting was actually very good, and the movie had a good concept and message. The added warning about the restraint scenes completely makes sense, but in general, you can tell Sia had good intentions in the making of this movie.
