Just saw this while abroad, actually. Can’t say I am as impressed with it as I was with the first one. So many huge plot holes and bad storytelling undermining character development, which was then underlined by even worse plot pivot point decisions on the part of the writers (why kill the eldest son?). Cameron is a great writer, and these mistakes don’t seem in line with his level of mastery. It looks to me like Cameron’s script got mutilated by executives bent on turning a one-movie sequel into more for profit reasons. That’s sad. The return of the Sky People to Pandora had so much potential. Instead it got turned into a bad lip reading of Moby Dick.

Wow! Amazing how they took the awful predecessor to this film; harvested the most compelling part of it, and then spun it into this incredible story arc that hits every note perfectly! Well done!
