I really enjoyed the film from the aspect of being a DC/Batman fan and also as a fan of good films period. It was a deep dive into mental health awareness, social economics, funding for healthcare and advocacy of those who have been left behind by the system and are ignored. You due empathize with the Joker Character as you him make this transition into not the joker we know but almost as if the comics and movies were a mirror of what really happened. The great thing about the DC character of the Joker is that he is not a reliable source of information especially his backstory which you see in The Dark Knight movie. Heath Ledger's Joker tells 3 stories of how he got his scares. The move Joker is a slow burn into his madness but pays off in the last act. The films takes cues from two Martin Scorsese films 1976's "Taxi Driver" and 1982's "The King of Comedy". I recommend watching these two great films if you get a chance or at least a summary on youtube. LOL. The acting is superb, the writing is superb as well as the directing. Overall a really amazing film that happens to take place in Gotham and a version of the batman universe. Hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did. Send in the clowns!
