Can't believe I'm going to say this, but both JIGSAW and SAW 3D were more entertaining to watch than this. As a die-hard-fan of this franchise (been following it ever since it came out back in 2004), it really got me into conspiracies and mystery solving stories, and so; and not only this movie felt like I was scammed while watching it, it felt like there was so much potential to do so much more... And I believe that is pretty much the issue: the movie is too pretentious, always on the verge of something crazier or bigger happening... But then, you get disappointed with how dull the characters are, how forgettable the plot is, and how pointless sitting down and watching the whole last 30 minutes was. And the Traps? Not only forgettable, but unwinnable. I get that the point was to make them actually unwinnable, but it beats the whole purpose of the franchise. If the traps are unwinnable because you want to cleanse the police department, JUST KILL THEM, kill the cops, since they're all so easily kidnapped every single time, in the exact same way; there is a point where the kidnappings become so excessively repetitive, that you can predict what's next, ending with a sensation of dullness, again. Gosh, I wish I could unsee what I just SAW in this film. I would give them kudos for trying to portray our reality in society where cops get away with murder and illegal stuff, as well as the obvious idea playing around the main character and its peers, but then again, the movie lacked execution; all greatest ideas possible were thrown on the table, but no one was ready to catch them to form the actual jigsaw puzzle they were aiming for.
