Hubs and I could only watch the first three episodes before we had to stop, or our eyeballs were going to roll out of our heads.
I'm all for women being empowered, but this is the wrong way to try and maje it happen. It felt like a fanfic wtitten by an angsty, angry, 13 year old, lesbian "witch" than a legit show.
The visuals were amazing, though! As a horror fan, mad props to the special effects crew, and I hope you all find work elsewhere on a project worthy of your talents.
The acting was...okay. None of it wowed me. Definitely directed to teens.
The story...yikes!
(Spoilers ahead)
Questions I still have that I'm certain would not be answered:
-- Why is Satan hanging out in a podunk small-town's coal mine?
-- Why does he care about a small-town cult THIS much? I mean, doesn't the epitome of evil have wars to oversee or political leaders to manipulate?
-- They HAD disorder in the court. Using the opposite of words to try and be edgy is only confusing for your audience.
-- Is the school library literally the ONLY library there? And even if so, this was obvi a modern tale; Ambrose is shown with a modern laptop. So even if your teacher won't let you do a book report on it, YOU CAN STILL BUY, DOWNLOAD, AND READ WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!
-- I'm pretty sure that's not how vision loss works. Find a new doctor.
-- Audible. Braille. Just..find other ways to read. Dang.
-- I can see real Wiccans, witches, and satanists hating this as much as I do. And I'm a Christian!
-- Where are the other girls' parents?
Overall, this feels like it was written and directed by Rebecca Sugar's dark side. Entirely toomuch in-your-face SJW nonsense without any of the understanding of what feminism - or anything really - is about.
-- Lastly, why are these women encouraging Sabrina to follow this when they themselves are so deeply unhappy? It makes zero sense.
Mmk, off to read the Wiki article now so I don't have to watch the show.
