A delightful movie of strangers who work hard to keep their distance when they first meet, but become friends when they find their own ways to connect and overcome their suspicions of each other. They have a wonderful time as the walls fall down and delights are allowed in! Fun movie that invites you in to their feelings of belonging as they grow.

Clever dialogue, has held up well over time. Grant and Myrna Loy are very well matched. A well paced film. One kind of knows what’s coming next, but can’t wait to see it.

The feast in this movie is ours! At the end I was as satisfied as Babette and the guests. So Much is communicated throughout the film with a minimum use of words especially during the last parts of the film.
