I love a depressing movie, and this is a pillar of despair. Affleck is great and so is Michelle Williams, although she's barely in the movie. Beautifully acted, and locations and accents help drive the mood and atmosphere. My only concern was the nephew character. As hard as they try to give him dimension, the actor and character are one note. Loud doesn't always mean good. Was he supposed to be completed unlikeable?
