Naughty Dog could not have executed this game any worse. The reason it did not live up to the first part is because it feels like a completely different game. The writing should have been developed around a decision-based game, instead of forcing such a risky and new narrative.
Killing the best character did not help, and spending half the time as the antagonist was a waste of time. The game seems like a revenge story, but it's about forgiveness. The story focuses on the nature of humanity and how everyone is a villain; there are no heroes. However, it's overwhelming.
The storyline has too much fluff, ultimately distracting and diminishing the message of the game. It left me confused and angry after playing, thinking "I just wasted 3 days of my life I will never get back." I wanted to like this game so much, but I just couldn't.
Also, they didn't even include a multi-player option for this game, so we're just stuck to play this horrendous story and nothing else. Very disappointing.
