This was pretty unwatchable for me. Saw it in a theater. Even on a big screen in a dark theater, the big CGI finale was so blurry and messy and low-budget that it was hard to tell who was doing what at any given time and what was going on. But even before the mess of a climax, the whole story was filled with 2-dimensional characters and bad dialogue. As a horror movie buff and a lifelong comic fan, it really didn't do a satisfying job in either category. There were a few jump scares but the movie didn't really create an atmosphere of tension at all. The characters had barely any lines to characterize them, other than the main 2 characters. I will applaud the movie for giving us a rarely-depicted example of young queer love, but I just wish it were in a better movie. It's a shame they wasted casting Anna Taylor-Joy as Illyana in this, because she is a great actress and played the role well despite a pretty terrible script. I can only hope they pull her into the MCU and reboot the character to give her another shot at it.
