I woke up to a lot of negative reviews and comments regarding Marakkar and this made me doubt my decision to watch the movie. But I never hesitated as I had made up my mind almost a year ago and luckily the movie didn't disappoint at all. A very well shot movie with a varied cast and decent performances from most of the actors. A special mention to Arjun Sarja, Suniel Shetty and Prabhu. All of them portrayed their characters very well. A lot of improvement shown by Pranav Mohanlal who excelled in his role as a young Kunjali but was a bit disappointed with the performance of Mohanlal, maybe because of the level which he has maintained over the years. The visual effects were brilliant and the effort taken by the VFX team is evident in the war sequences. All in all a movie that is way above average, but could have been a lot better had the director avoided a few errors from his part (certain scenes were stretched for no reason with a lot of slow motion sequences and some important scenes towards the end were shot clumsily and felt rushed. I would definitely recommend everyone to watch it at least once and preferably in theaters.
