My very first Halo game, was not disappointed, got hooked immediately to the franchise and lore. First of all, the way this was written and directed is just amazing. It really puts you in a situation of war, no mercy, no sugarcoating, kill or be killed. The music is basically the cherry on top, incredible composition, my favorite set of themes among the Halo franchise. Second, the story, unlike Master Chief's, make you feel almost weak and helpless. Master Chief is a man who can take care of himself, he's basically a one man army. In this game, you're nothing like Master Chief, you don't have his armor, you don't have his strength or his fighting ability, you're almost like a disposable trooper more than anything and the feeling of being normal compared to the Chief, really makes you feel strong that even if you're not Master Chief, you are still capable of saving the world. Third, the gameplay design and mechanics are incredible. As my first game, I was able to go through it without feeling incapable and confused, it made me feel confident to rush and to just attack because the way they designed this game is very straightforward and concise. Fourth, the armor and weapon designs are perfect. For other Halo games, the weapon and armor designs sometimes look too cartoonishly futuristic that it just throws you off, but Halo Reach has designs that make you feel like it exists in real life, it also doesn't stand out, like very vibrant colors or very accentuated designs that it makes it feel out of place. Lastly, it's really good for multiplayer. It has many game modes that allow for really fun multiplayer, even locally.
