Minor technical issues aside (rooffs' hair too long, browns instead of overalls, bush hats instead of doibies and a sergeant being in charge of a squad instead of a corporal) this movie reflects the sadistic testosterone-laden nature of military service, especially in the context of a psychotic regime.
