A parade of stereotypes of people -- made-up situations -- and dogs as well for that matter.
Could have been written over a weekend -- or even a couple of hours. An 8-year old could probably do better. Nothing worthwhile here -- though it purports to have 'great values' -- the story is empty and full of very, very old 'dog jokes' like smelling butts, poop, and eating anything not nailed down. Sound like a Disney cartoon ?
Very shallow and idiotic -- though the 'people characters' were even shallower and more idiotic-- if that's possible.. The bad mother, the bad boyfriend ... the bad girlfriend ... and more bad boyfriends from the bad mother -- who simply wants to be a famous singer already --
[ just like her daughter does also -- how ironic -- what a Story !! ]
Dog lovers deserve much, much better than this... and so do Dogs ...
Where are the great writers like Jack London and Jim Kjelgaard -----
-- or great movies like Lady and the Tramp and Old Yeller --- with such a sense of spirit and insight way beyond stereotypes --- evidently not in Hollywood.
