I went into this movie with excitement and high expectations, hoping that Christopher Nolan could deliver another Dark Knight or Inception. What I experienced was a convoluted, nonsensical mess. I can’t even begin to explain what this movie was about. They could have played the entire movie in Russian and it wouldn’t have made a difference. The plot twist is that I don’t speak Russian. I’m sure Nolan and company had every intention of developing a good quality plot line, but to say the movie had a plot at all would be generous. I do give the screenwriters credit for their bold choice of making sure that the audience couldn’t understand a single word of dialogue. When the characters weren’t having plot-driving conversations while holding scuba regulators on their mouths, they were drowned out by the Mega Bass Level 11 EDM musical score. You can play it forward and backwards and louder and louder as many times as you want, Chris, but it’s not going to make me understand your movie any better. All I know is that I walked out of that movie, not knowing who anyone was, what they were trying to accomplish or why I spent my money to fry my mind on this garbage. So yeah, I’d recommend not seeing this.
